He provides a natural authority and guidance by virtue of his awareness and experience; but as far as possible, he avoids the trap of the fixed 'I-Thou' status difference and personal distance which automatically arises in many professions.For the Humaniversity Therapist, treatment or therapy is, in the overall scheme of things, simply a bridge to the realisation of full and complete humanity for everyone. This is only possible if the ultimate goal is equality and friendship with and between all human beings.
