HUMANIVERSITY PSYCHOLOGY

To be or not to be ...
that is not  the question!

The Humaniversity's philosophy is that each person can and should be to the fullest extent of their potential.

In the pursuit of the growth, development and fulfilment of the human being it is therefore important to ask two questions: What is it to be human? What is the nature of being?

A remarkable feature of Humaniversity Psychology, compared with other schools of psychology, is its practice of drawing from a wide range of sources - Western and Eastern, contemporary and traditional. All of this knowledge is drawn together in a highly integrated and original manner.

As a student of Humaniversity Psychology you will discover the three main fears that people struggle with in life; you will explore the three causes of change in human behaviour; the principles of authenticity, and, you will develop a deep appreciation of the nature of awareness, meditation, encounter, love and friendship.

You will discover first-hand that you are not the mind, the body, or the emotions. Rather, you are a being or nature which is related to but beyond all of these phenomena.

A remarkable feature of Humaniversity Psychology is the way in which it naturally transcends the conventional boundaries between psychology and spirituality, offering a more complete integration of the human psyche. It adopts an existential approach without pretending to know all the answers.

Humaniversity Psychology does not seek to intrude on any individual spiritual beliefs, or to impose any dogma of its own. Indeed, Humaniversity Psychology has been able to develop because of its receptivity to wisdom of all kinds.

HUMANIVERSITY THERAPY

Having learned about the basic principles of Humaniversity Psychology, you will go on to learn how to apply this knowledge practically in the process of working with people. This is Humaniversity Therapy.

Humaniversity Therapy adopts a multi-therapeutic approach. This means that its general approach is influenced by many different schools of psychology. It also means that many individual Humaniversity techniques are an innovative synthesis of a range of existing methods and new ideas. You will experience and learn an abundant diversity of techniques and innovations. These will equip you with a strong repertoire of resources for your personal and professional life.

A key feature of Humaniversity Therapy is its emphasis on large scale group and communal therapy rather than the traditional one-to-one therapist/client, relationship. This is a potent and effective therapeutic approach, and is probably a key to the future direction of psychotherapy generally.

Humaniversity Therapy is also significant because it promotes the elements of expression, love, friendship and meditation not only as an ingredient of the therapeutic process but as a process of life itself.

Finally, Humaniversity Therapy aims to equip you with a range of arts and skills that provide you with the personal power and resources needed to navigate your way through life as an authentic being - The Human Arts.

In the course of your journey through your studies you meet, live, learn and celebrate with many others who want to experience life to the full. Humaniversity life has many heartful, healthy and dynamic qualities:

Coming back then to the issue of being, you will learn to be yourself, how to be with yourself, how to be with others, and how to be in the world.
