About Us

The Humaniversity is an international center for therapy, training and personal growth. It was founded in 1978 by Veeresh D. Yuson-Sanchez, an outstanding therapist and teacher who became famous for his work in the Human Potential Movement.

The therapeutic work of the Humaniversity is the culmination of Veeresh's professional career and his personal spiritual search. Humaniversity Therapy is a holistic synthesis of western psychotherapy and eastern approaches to meditation. In 1996 the Humaniversity became a university to train students and professionals in the art of working with people. The Humaniversity is also known as the 'Friendship University'.

In the philosophy of the Humaniversity the main cause of human problems is separation and emotional isolation. Love and friendship are important elements in the healing process. Authentic friendship is seen as the highest goal a human being can achieve in society.

The work of the Humaniversity emphasises group- and communal therapy. The Humaniversity has adapted a carefully designed group management system that ensures optimal care and guidance for each participant. No matter what the size of the group is, the individual and his specific needs are always central.

The approach of Humaniversity Therapy is multi-symptomatic. Groups are typically heterogeneous. For instance, therapy students, spiritual seekers, housewives, unemployed labourers, businessmen and the occasional 'lost soul' are in the same basic program. This creates an environment where the participants learn about themselves from each other, and develop relating qualities such as tolerance, patience and mutual respect.
